My spiritual journey began at 16 with my first yoga class, which profoundly transformed my life. As an introverted artist, the yoga mat became my sanctuary, offering a profound sense of peace, self-love, and wholeness. This experience shaped my life's mission: to move toward wholeness and help others do the same.
For eleven years, I worked at my brother's yoga studio. When its mission diverged from my values, it felt like a significant loss. Yet, miraculously, this period coincided with meeting my soulmate, David Prentice. His profound self-belief immediately captivated me; I recognized it as something I needed in my life. David inspired me to open my own yoga studio, a feat I never thought possible. We married and became a formidable "power couple," both launching our own business ventures. I even opened a second studio!
Life was flourishing until the unimaginable happened: David was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer, just one year after our unforgettable wedding in Italy. Becoming his caregiver forced me to pause and reevaluate every aspect of our relationship and my life. We had to confront what truly mattered, leading us to make different choices. I decided against opening a third studio and closed the second to devote more time to David. He also downsized his business, choosing to help people in a way that held more profound meaning for him.
Then the pandemic struck, feeling like an inescapable storm on top of an existing one. I closed my physical studio and transitioned to remotely educating my community spiritually. I developed mental training courses and launched my coaching business, experiencing immediate and thrilling success. David witnessed my achievements during these dire circumstances and was grateful and inspired, finding his own self-belief reflected in mine.
Losing him at 30 was devastating. As I was 12 years older, his death was unforeseen and crushed me. However, I knew the power of self-belief resided within me, and my mission was to share it with the world, just as David would have wanted. This conviction inspired the writing of, and eventually led to the publication of, my book, "The Power of Self-Belief."
His passing initiated a profound metamorphosis for me. It took five years to transmute my midlife crisis into a midlife creation, completely reinventing myself, my career, and my environment. Ever since I was a little girl, taking ski vacations, I had dreamed of living in the Colorado Rockies. I felt most alive in Colorado, and I knew it was the place for my next adventure. I recognized that I had outgrown everything and everyone in Michigan. With love in my heart and unwavering belief in my soul, I sold my home, divested myself of most possessions save for my clothes, car, and dogs, and drove to Breckenridge for my new beginning and rebirth at 47.
It took several months to settle into and acclimate to my new life. My current focus is on writing and speaking. I've just completed my latest ebook, "From Midlife Crisis to Midlife Creation: The Five Steps to Recreate Your Life and Reclaim Your Power." I continue to host remote yoga classes, spiritually educate, and lead within my communities. I also organize longevity yoga retreats, with the next one scheduled for Thailand in March. My mission remains to inspire midlife awakenings, guiding others toward purposeful, powerful living, expanding their personal "home frequency," and ultimately creating incredible lives from the ashes of what has been lost or destroyed.
Love and light,
